How the Polar Plunge Works

Register

Sign up on OneCause and set your personal fundraising goal. Every $75 raised goes directly to athlete programs.

Fundraise

Collect pledges from friends, family, and coworkers. Use your personal fundraising page to track progress.

Plunge!

Show up to Goose Lake on Dec 12 and take the leap into the frozen water. Costumes encouraged!

Celebrate

Warm up at the post-plunge party. Every dollar raised helps an Alaska athlete compete year-round.

Plunge Tips & Tricks

Wear layers you don't mind getting soaked โ€” the transition from water to warm air is the shock.

Bring a dry change of clothes and a towel. Wool socks are a game-changer.

Raise at least $75 in pledges before the event date โ€” this is required to participate.

Costumes are highly encouraged! Past plungers have worn everything from superhero suits to Santa.

Make sure to register first on OneCause โ€” walk-ups may not be guaranteed a spot.
