Programs for Everyone

Local Programs
Regional and local organizations representing Special Olympics Alaska throughout the state. Volunteer Community Management Teams work with staff to oversee training, sports, and operations in their home communities.

Young Athletes Program
Established by Special Olympics International to provide early developmental opportunities for children ages 2½ to 7 with and without intellectual disabilities, utilizing guided play and fun physical activities.

Health Messengers
Trained Special Olympics athletes and Unified partners who educate and advocate for healthy lifestyles within their communities — spreading wellness beyond the playing field.

Senior Program
Specialized sports training and competition for older athletes, ensuring lifelong participation in the joy of sport regardless of age.

Unified Champion Schools
School-based program that uses sports as a vehicle for inclusion for students with and without intellectual disabilities. Active across 24 schools in Alaska.

Unified 3-on-3 Basketball
Fast-paced 3-on-3 basketball bringing together athletes and unified partners on the same team, competing in tournaments across the state.
